I studied Music Education at Florida State University and taught hundreds of K–5 kids as an elementary music teacher before founding Mini Musicians Studio in 2020.
When I was 8, I loved music, but at my first guitar lesson my teacher brought out a typical method book and taught me E, F & G on the first string. I was bored. All I wanted was to play my favorite songs!
So when I became a music educator, I made it my mission to teach music in a way that feels FUN, encouraging & pressure-free, where kids can make REAL music from day one. When I started teaching music online in 2020 as a temporary COVID solution has now grown into a multi-teacher studio that's supported over 1,800 students 🥹
I've had performance anxiety my entire life. The first time I auditioned for FSU, I actually didn't get in because I panicked and forgot all the words to one of my songs. All that to say, I know what it feels like when music turns from a fun hobby into a test. And that's why it's important to me that our lessons are encouraging, pressure-free, and a safe place to make mistakes.

Parent Questions
BG4K is designed for TOTAL beginners. If your child is 8–13 and can follow simple directions on Zoom, they’re a great fit.
We start from scratch: how to hold the guitar, simplified chords, simple TAB songs. Kids who’ve played around on YouTube or taken 1–2 random lessons are still considered beginners for this course.
Any 6-string guitar will work! For 8–10-year-olds, we usually recommend classical (nylon strings) or electric because they’re easier on small fingers — the biggest thing is that your child feels comfortable pressing down on the strings and the guitar holds its tune. For tuning, use the free app “Guitar Tuna.”
No special equipment needed: a stable internet connection, a device with a camera and mic (laptop or desktop recommended), the Zoom app, their instrument, and a quiet space where your kiddo can focus.
BG4K is a small, live group program with limited spots. After you pay, you have a 48-hour change-of-mind window: cancel for a full refund minus a $10 processing fee — just email us within 48 hours of payment. After 48 hours, tuition is non-refundable, since we’ve reserved your child’s spot in a tiny group, built rosters, and committed teacher time for all 12 weeks.
If something unexpected comes up later, reach out — sometimes we can offer options like transfers — but refunds aren’t guaranteed beyond that window.
Totally normal — kids get sick, life happens! We don’t offer make-up credits or reschedules, but lessons are recorded, so we’ll send the missed class recording the next day for your child to watch on their own time.
Students are responsible for watching the recording and reviewing that week’s practice plan, since the content builds week to week. With enough notice, your child may be able to hop into another group that week (not guaranteed) — email hello@minimusiciansstudio.com and we’ll try to make it work!
Waitlist families enrolling during Early Enrollment (Nov 16–18) complete an Early Enrollment Form with details about your child, plus an availability survey. Our team pairs students by availability and age, and sends your child’s assigned group on Nov 20, along with a link to officially pay to enroll.
Lessons run Monday through Friday, with the most groups Tuesday through Thursday. We’ll assign your learner within the availability you provide — or if we’re struggling to find a fit, we’ll text you before Nov 20 to discuss options.
Mrs. G plans to teach as many groups as possible for January 2027. If we welcome more students than her capacity allows (max 6–8 groups), or students need times outside her availability (Tuesday–Thursday, no later than 5:30 PM EST), we may open sections taught by another fantastic MMS instructor.
Our small team are all experienced, qualified music educators who’ve passed background checks and are hired and vetted by Mrs. G. We all follow the same 12-week curriculum and weekly lesson plans, with the same values and mission.
No. We use TAB — easy music reading with numbers — and simplified versions of guitar chords. Theory, drills and scales can wait until they’re hooked.
Small! Groups of 3–6 kids, matched by age, level and availability. We’ll reach out personally with any scheduling concerns.
12 weekly, 50-minute small-group Zoom lessons. Groups begin the week of January 11th.
Yes — BG4K is designed for homeschooling families and anyone who wants an at-home after-school extracurricular. No driving required.
The entire course fee is due upfront, and spots aren’t reserved until full payment is made. Regular tuition is $357 per student; Waitlist Early Enrollment tuition is $287 per student.
$70 off per kid ($287 instead of $357), a FREE BG4K Self-Paced Starter Course ($97 value), and priority group placement + scheduling support. Plus, the first 20 waitlisters to complete the Early Enrollment Form (and enroll) are entered for a chance to win a FREE 50-min 1:1 lesson with Mrs. G ($100 value). Fill out the form Nov 16–18 and pay by Nov 25 to keep the perks.
Studio Policies
Students are expected to attend all scheduled lessons for the group in which they enrolled. Enrollment fees are non-refundable after our 48-hour grace period, so please plan lesson times and social engagements accordingly.
Make-up lessons are NOT provided. If a student misses a lesson, a class recording will be provided (not to be shared with outside parties). Students are responsible for watching the recording and reviewing that week’s practice plan, as the content builds week to week.
If a teacher is unable to teach a class, families will be notified by email ASAP and another MMS teacher may substitute if available. If a substitute can’t be arranged, we’ll try to reschedule. If rescheduling isn’t possible, families receive a prorated refund for the missed lesson.
By enrolling, families agree that classes will be recorded for studio records and student viewing. Recordings are uploaded to YouTube as unlisted videos, and an unlisted playlist link of your group’s classes is shared with enrolled families.
To protect student safety and privacy, families are strictly prohibited from sharing the playlist link outside their class section. After the 12-week session ends, all recordings are set to private.
By enrolling, families agree that Mini Musicians Studio uses virtual assistants for administrative tasks like scheduling, billing & communication. Our trained assistants follow strict confidentiality agreements and access student information only for their duties. All information is kept secure and confidential, following our privacy policies and data protection laws.
